Brown Girl Dreaming: The Movie

The idea of turning books into movies or tv series always intrigues me. After reading Brown Girl Dreaming by Jacqueline Woodson, I began to think about how this story could be transferred into a TV show or movie. Personally, I think this story would make a better movie than TV show. The book is made up of many short verses that tell the overall story of Jacqueline Woodson growing up and finding herself as a writer. I think the nature of the verses and the stories told would make it difficult to make a TV series out of the book. The verses are short and would be challenging to turn into TV episodes. The book so far has been about a young African-American girl and some of the moments in her life. Jacqueline Woodson has mentioned some of her dreams so far, but they have not seemed to be the focus so far. She talks about wanting to be in the classroom for things such as birthday treats or the Pledge of Allegiance, but can't due to being a Jehovah's Witness. She also mentions when she first learned...
